Numbers jumped and the quality was mixed with a few more drier weaners. Yearling were well supplied and there was a bit more weight throughout the offering. Grown cattle were limited and nearly 700 cows were penned in a mostly dearer market.

The fresher steer calves sold 25c dearer to restockers reaching 372c/kg. There was less competition for heifers this week and they eased 15c and sold from 200c to 289c/kg for the vealers. Medium weight feeder steers lifted 35c selling from 277c to 330c and heavy weights gained 20c, to sell from 270c to 323c/kg. Feeder heifers were 8c stronger from 238c to 286c/kg. Trade cattle gained 10c to 15c, reaching 310c for steers and 288c/kg for the best heifers.

Grown steers lifted 20c receiving 262c to 295c and heifers jumped 30c also selling to 295c/kg. Cows had increases of 20c to 25c across the board with medium weight 2 score cows from 205c to 236c/kg. Heavy 3 and 4 score cows sold from 228c to 262c, averaging 254c/kg.
