Lamb numbers eased with the lead up to Easter. The quality was again mixed with a lot of smaller lots offered. There was a good selection of trade weights and a few heavy lambs as well as the usual lighter weights which more suited the restocking and feeder orders. Not all the usual buyers were operating on the smaller numbers which sold to a dearer trend.

Restocking lambs sold from $91 to $155 and feeders paid to $209/head for heavy lambs. Medium and heavy trade lambs were $9 dearer and mostly sold from $190 to $217/head. Heavy lambs lifted $2 and the majority received from $220 to $234/head. Merino lambs reached $159/head. The best priced hoggets reached $213/head. Crossbred ewe lambs topped at $240/head.

Mutton numbers eased and the quality was mixed again on a smaller pen sizes. Prices were around firm. Merino ewes made from $88 to $243/head. Crossbred ewes sold from $110 to $266/head and Dorper ewes made from $124 to $160/head. Heavy crossbred wethers reached $290/head.
